The third collective leadership research workshop titled “Methodological Challenges in Collective Leadership Research” will convene scholars exploring the methodological challenges of doing collective leadership research in New York City from September 29 to October 1, 2016. In this workshop, conversations will emerge around papers produced by researchers working along the following categories.
- Empirical papers reporting leadership research that genuinely captures the collective dimensions of any form of leadership in the plural, and in which the research can be viewed as an example of how the challenges were successfully addressed;
- Conceptual, reflective papers that discuss the challenges of matching lens and method in doing leadership research by unpacking a particular methodological challenge. These papers will also propose viable solutions to address it
- Conceptual, reflective papers that take a specific theoretical framework highlighting the collective dimensions of leadership and propose ways to address methodological and measurement challenges.
